Arukah Housing
Based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, The Arukah Project, in partnership with the Empowerment Housing Project CIC, has developed an innovative trauma-responsive supported accommodation and housing pathway model for individuals impacted by the criminal justice system, addiction, and complex trauma.
Many of those we support have faced multiple disadvantages and cycles of exclusion. Our housing model provides not only a safe place to live but also the relationships, structure, and support needed to begin building meaningful, independent lives.
We believe that a home is the foundation for healing. Our supported accommodation is more than just a roof—it is a space of safety, belonging, and opportunity. Within this environment, individuals are met with compassion, consistency, and community-based care, enabling them to stabilise, recover, and move towards lasting reintegration.

Mission
Our mission is to create housing pathways that lead to healing, restoration, and meaningful reintegration into society. By fostering a culture of relational safety, we help residents feel secure enough to explore who they are and empowered to shape a future they can be proud of. Every journey is client-led, community-supported, and underpinned by professional networks dedicated to long-term success.
Alongside accommodation, residents access wraparound support including health services, education, employment opportunities, life skills training, and tenancy sustainment support. Each participant in our 12-month programme is paired with both a case manager and a peer navigator who provide consistent guidance and encouragement, helping residents overcome challenges such as maintaining tenancies, securing work, and managing wellbeing.
Our supported housing operates through a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) model, working closely with probation, police, local authorities, mental health services, employers, charities, and faith communities. This integrated approach ensures residents receive coordinated, tailored support to achieve independence and avoid reoffending.
